Women support Obama

Here's an article from the LA Times showing that Clinton's supporters are now supporting Obama.

Frank Rich had a good editorial in Sunday Times discussing the total fabrication of the narrative that for some reason her supporters were going to McCain and that Obama needs to court women voters. Apparently Obama now has a 19 percent lead among women, a much larger lead than any recent Democratic candidate.

Meanwhile Fox News is interviewing supposed "Hillary supporters" who claim they're voting for McCain... Those guys would be hilarious if they weren't so powerful.

Yeah, I always found particularly ridiculous the polls indicating that some huge percentage of Hillary supporters would back McCain before they would vote for Obama. As if the democrats and relatively middle-of-the-road liberals aren't going to be completely in lockstep by the time November rolls around. The idea that temporary bitterness would carry on for months and taint the election is just absurd to begin with. How long did it take us to forget about 9/11? What, maybe a year? This whole Obama/Hillary spat isn't even going to be a blip on the radar by the time the general election is well underway.

On a somewhat unrelated note, have you ever watched "Hannity's America" on FoxNews? I highly recommend that you do so if you ever catch it while flipping channels. The episode I caught last night prior to the NBA Finals was "The Top 10 Reasons Why America Is The Greatest Nation In The World." Hannity piles on the propaganda so thick that I almost think his point is to inspire outrage on the left. I guess the whole point of the show is to counteract all the "anti-American sentiment" that pervades the mainstream American and world media. He was seriously sitting there extolling the prevalence of McDonald's, KFC, and Starbucks around the world as evidence of America's greatness. At one point he was like "...and this is yet another reason why America is still the greatest nation God ever gave to any people on Earth," just piling it on extra thick with a shit-eating grin on his face for good measure. It's a pretty priceless bit of television.

Seriously, I tend to roll my eyes whenever the right-wing echo chamber starts resonating. Such as the pictures of Obama not putting his hand on his chest during the national anthem or pictures of his campaign offices sporting Che Guevara pictures. Sadly, those pictures are constantly reproduced verbatim and without any critical stances on a lot of right-wing outlets.

One of the funniest things I saw was a "report" about Michelle Obama with the headline "Why is she so angry at America". The conclusion was: "How can she believe this about America? Most Americans share Ronald Reagan's view that America is the shining mansion on the hill." It was pretty funny.

I'm just waiting for the rumors of Michelle Obama burning an American flag to surface. Funny how Republicans are so good with recycling, yet are so anti-environment regulations ...
